As a Financial Analyst you will play a pivotal role in financial planning, analysis, and decision support for the company's operations. This position will require strong financial modeling, data analysis, and industry-specific knowledge to aid in making informed financial decisions.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to analyze and forecast revenues, expenses, and profitability within the oil and gas sector.
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to provide insights into financial performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and update budgets, financial plans, and long-term financial strategies.
- Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to assess the company's financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budgeted figures and provide explanations for discrepancies.
- Evaluate potential investment opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital projects, by conducting financial due diligence and risk assessments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial models for investment proposals, taking into account relevant factors such as asset valuations and potential returns.
- Prepare and present financial reports, summaries, and key performance indicators to senior management and stakeholders.
- Communicate complex financial data in a clear and understandable manner, assisting non-financial colleagues in decision-making processes.
- Monitor and control costs related to exploration, production, and other operational activities, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to budgets.
- Identify opportunities to optimize cost structures and improve operational profitability.
- Stay updated on relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws in the oil and gas industry to ensure compliance and minimize financial risks.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or in a relevant field.
- Professional Certification (CFA,CPA) or Masters Degree is preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience as a financial analyst, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
- Strong knowledge of financial modeling, data analysis, and financial software tools.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
