About the job Financial AnalystOne of our esteemed clients in the Oil & Gas Industry is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to be based in Kuwait.Job Overview:
As a Financial Analyst you will play a pivotal role in financial planning, analysis, and decision support for the company's operations. This position will require strong financial modeling, data analysis, and industry-specific knowledge to aid in making informed financial decisions.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models to analyze and forecast revenues, expenses, and profitability within the oil and gas sector.
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to provide insights into financial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and update budgets, financial plans, and long-term financial strategies.
  • Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to assess the company's financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results with budgeted figures and provide explanations for discrepancies.
  • Evaluate potential investment opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital projects, by conducting financial due diligence and risk assessments.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial models for investment proposals, taking into account relevant factors such as asset valuations and potential returns.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, summaries, and key performance indicators to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex financial data in a clear and understandable manner, assisting non-financial colleagues in decision-making processes.
  • Monitor and control costs related to exploration, production, and other operational activities, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to budgets.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize cost structures and improve operational profitability.
  • Stay updated on relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws in the oil and gas industry to ensure compliance and minimize financial risks.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or in a relevant field.
  • Professional Certification (CFA,CPA) or Masters Degree is preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a financial analyst, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, data analysis, and financial software tools.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities.
