Purpose and Scope of the JobThe Registrar is responsible for patients with medical problems generally considered to fall his/her specialty. Reports to the HOD on matters relating to the operations of the patient care division and maintain contact with the Head of Department.Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards1Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Department Policy and Guidelines2Performs duties of diagnosis and management of patients attending the ENT out patients department.3Responsible for pre op and postoperative care of patients as designated by HOD.4Diagnosis and treatment of patients referred to department and responsible to run his/her own clinic5Responsible to provide the highest quality of service to the patients under his/her care within the resources provided by the program6Undertakes interventional procedures, as part of the patients' treatment and/or to reach a diagnosis, where appropriate, in line with his delineated clinical privileges.7The Registrar with or without the help of consultant will review outpatients summaries and shall prepare reports and statistical analysis as required of him; such reports will be prepared in a timely manner in accordance with the standards8Reports any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the Clinic or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations which put patients, staff and visitors at risk of injury or other harm.9Participates in and help establish the educational programs conducted by medical administration and provide instructions as required to the various departments in the form of a continuing education program.10Contributes in verification of the qualification and capabilities of all technical personnel as required by Head of Department. Provides leadership for organizational performance improvement activities.11Follows established policies and procedures.12Attends regularly scheduled meeting for the improvement of patient care services and delivery.13Maintains strictest confidentiality14Co-ordinates with all consultants for ensuring that sound administrative and professional standards of medical practice are maintained.15Accepts all other additional assignments found necessary by the Head of DepartmentQualifications, Competences and SkillsEducationMBBS &Master DegreeExperienceMinimum 1 year experience after master degreeLicensureValid Kuwait LicenseLanguageWell versed in English and elementary knowledge of Arabic is desirable.Computer ProficiencyGood computer skillsPerformance Competencies1Good communication skills2Knowledge of Required Organizational practices /patient safety standards.3Command over professional code of ethics , medical bylaws4Knowledge of evidence based Age specific/ Population specific patient care clinical guidelines accepted by the hospital5Culturally competent ( Kuwaiti patients' culture and beliefs)6AHA certified Basic Life support provider7AHA certified Advance Cardiac Life support provider8Role during emergency preparednessPrinciple Working Relationships and Remarks1Medical Administrative staff, Peers, Nurses, Clinical Ancillary staff, Customer service staff and Secretaries.
