Painter

• Paints surfaces using brushes, spray guns and/or rollers. Selects and prepares paint to match specified colors by blending the required portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying substances.
• Responsible in application of coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.
• Used appropriate smoothest surfaces, using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool, and removes old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch to prepare surfaces for painting.
• Removes fixtures, such as pictures and electric switchovers, from walls prior to painting, using screw driver.
• Spreads drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and covers surfaces, such as baseboards, door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
• Repair and finish drywall for painting. Properly use, care, and maintenance for/or equipment used in painting trade
• Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
• May be designated according to type of work performed.
• Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
• Provides or promotes people centered care.
• Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
• Any other duties assigned.

• Knowledge uses tools, materials and other methods for preparing surfaces for paint, and or coating. Identify different types of sealant and filters and apply these to construction substrates
• Knowledge of use sand blasting equipment correctly and safely
