Job Category: R&M TECHNICIANJob Description:The R&M Technician III role undertakes hands-on tasks and utilizes Weatherford's facilities, equipment, machinery, and systems. The role applies techniques and practices to complete the scope of tasks covering inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools, preparing them for their next assignment. Tasks will span the entire process from receiving the tools, dismantling, repairing, and refurbishing using technical manuals, procedures, and technical work instructions. While this is a generic job description covering the different levels of the R&M Technician position, all aspects of the roles and responsibilities are relevant. More senior roles lead and oversee tasks carried out by other R&M employees.Responsibilities:
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, and reassemble tools and equipment.
  • Use tools, lifting equipment, and machinery according to certifications.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and safe working conditions.
  • Use work orders, checklists, and documentation systems (e.g., WO labor log, PFTs, AIRTs).
  • Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions.
  • Support continuous efficiency improvement programs and LEAN initiatives.
  • Senior roles may lead workshop operations, assign tasks, and conduct inspections
Qualifications:Skills:
  • Basic Mathematics
  • Working with hazardous materials, radioactive elements & explosives. Awareness of NDT, NDE and ATEX policies & principles
  • More senior roles require the ability to diagnose issues and problems with tools/equipment
  • Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, monitoring of equipment
  • Critical thinking, active learning & listening, complex problem solving
  • Good reading and writing skills, strong judgement and decision-making to be in line with policies & procedures
  • Time management
  • Quality Control Analysis to ensure product meets required standard
  • Capable to meet the physical demands that the role requires
  • Information & task ordering & ability to identify when a problem may occur and where possible to understand solution
  • Ability to react effectively and efficiently in operating tools and machinery
  • Ability to imagine how tools and products will look when preparing for assembly, repair or modifications
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably with Fishing Jars/Drilling Jars
  • Technical degree preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • Basic computer proficiency
