The Estimation Engineer for Plumbing & Firefighting is a vital position within the construction sector, particularly in Kuwait, where precise cost estimation is essential for project success. This role involves evaluating project specifications, preparing detailed estimates, and ensuring compliance with local plumbing and fire safety regulations. The Estimation Engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, architects, and contractors, to deliver accurate bids that reflect the true costs of plumbing and firefighting systems. With a focus on quality and efficiency, this position is crucial for maintaining project budgets and timelines.Responsibilities: * Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates for plumbing and firefighting systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers and design teams to identify project requirements and quantify necessary resources.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and justifications for pricing.
  • Monitor ongoing project costs and provide updates to management regarding budget adherence and potential overruns.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality materials.
  • Assist in contract negotiations with clients and suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Review historical data to improve the accuracy of future estimates and bidding processes.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior estimators and team members.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new materials, and technologies to enhance estimation practices.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss cost-related issues and propose cost-saving strategies.
Preferred Candidate: * 3–5 years of experience in plumbing and firefighting estimation within the construction industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of piping layouts, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and local plumbing/fire safety codes.
  • Proficient in reviewing tender specifications and technical drawings.
  • Expertise in preparing both technical and commercial bids for projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate estimations.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office for drafting and documentation purposes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
